Hope everyone had an amazing winter and got into some adventures!
We are gearing up for the 2023 season and can’t wait to hit the water.
It was a pleasure kiting and hangin’ with many of you in OBX and Colombia post season and we look forward to organizing more trips beginning in the fall.
Our aim is to open operations first week of May (wind permitting). So – We are organizing an Island clean-up day Sat April 29th and are looking for volunteers. Those who participate will receive a credit for one island ride to be used at a later date. If interested, please email me at danny@kaineticadventures and I will send further information on what’s entailed for the day.
An important update
We would like to welcome two new instructors to the team – Anne Kuron and David Studley. Both are now certified IKO instructors and are staples out at Kite Island. We are very pleased to have them join the team. They bring a lot of experience and good vibes to the island! Good luck Anne and Dave!
New updates and improvements to the booking process: Based on the feedback we received from those who participated from our survey, we have now implemented the following changes:
- Text message alerts for Kite Island: In addition to an email (for those who choose to participate in this process) we will send a text message showing only the Scheduled Date, Time of Departure and Wind quality. You will still need to refer to the email notification for further information. Please go to Kite Schedule to sign-up. Many of you expressed that you have missed the email notifications in the past. This will alert you that bookings are now open on the website.
- Venmo payment is now an option during check-out. For those who wish to pay cash, this is your best option.
- Pay Later, you can choose a pay later option during checkout. Paypal will divide your payment into four monthly payments at no additional cost. Please note: This option is through Paypal only. Not available for Credit cards or Venmo payments.
Other Activities:
- E-foiling lessons and rentals will be available in May. Don’t sit around waiting for wind or refreshing your wind tracker app hoping for a upgrade in wind. Book an efoil lesson!
- Wing Foiling lessons in mid-May. For those who want more water time, Wing Foiling is the way to go! No need to wait for Southerly winds to come through, we can wing in any wind direction.
- Supervised Ocean Riding: Want to Kite Surf waves like Instructor Kris Werekley or need some assistance riding on the ocean side for the first time? Be sure to sign-up for Supervised Ocean Riding when available.
- Advanced Riding Lesson: If you want to to learn some tricks and spin through the air out at Kite Island like Instructor Karl Fisher, be sure to sign-up for an Advanced riding lesson.
- Smart Waiver: Please renew your waivers for the year. All Island Riders and Lessons prior to boarding the boat or taking an efoil lesson will need to renew for 2023 season. The waiver is located on bottom right of homepage.
- Gear: Recommend at least 4/3 wetsuit and booties once operations resume. All water apparel can be purchased through our partners at Greenhatkiteboarding. For kiteboarding lessons, all necessary equipment is provided for Lesson One (Kite Skills) and Lesson Two (Board Skills). Island Riders and Supervised Riding must bring their own equipment or rent through us.
Once again, we can’t wait to get the season started. Very much looking forward to seeing you all on the water and meeting new faces!
Lets Go!!!
