5 Safety pointers for Kiteboarding in NJ

Kitesurfing, or Kiteboarding, is an enjoyable and thrilling way to experience the outdoors. To keep yourself safe while out on the water, there are five key safety pointers you should always follow:

 1. Be sure to check the weather conditions and exercise extreme caution in strong winds.

2. Familiarize yourself with the launch area and make sure that you’re comfortable launching and landing, especially when there are non-kiters around.

3. Have a self-rescue and exit strategy if something goes wrong. Do not assume you will be able to get back to same spot for which you have launched. Have a plan!

4. Never Kitesurf alone – it’s recommended that there’s always someone nearby in case help is needed.

5.  Be sure to double check all of your equipment before each session to make sure everything is properly assembled and secured against unexpected high winds or gusts. Double check your lines are attached properly and the bridal of the kite is clear

Keeping these five safety tips in mind will ensure that Kitesurfing remains an enjoyable and safe activity!
